Legacy Donor Stories
Meet Doris
When declining health forced Doris to move into a senior living facility in 2017, she donated her beloved home to People Who Care as a “thank you” to dedicated volunteers who provided her with years of quality services. Doris passed away in 2020 and left her entire estate to People Who Care, enabling us to purchase a permanent home.
“It was hard to consider leaving my home, but it was easy to decide to give it to People Who Care. It seems right that they should benefit from the very home their services allowed me to stay in longer than I could have otherwise.”
– Doris G, Neighbor
Meet Mike
Alongside his wife, this volunteer-turned-legacy donor felt compelled to support our mission not only now, but for years to come. This was a testament to People Who Care’s culture, as Mike felt confident our leadership team and Board of Directors would spend his donated money wisely.
“As a volunteer of my time and talent to the organization, it makes my heart glad to know that our future financial donation will support the mission of helping Neighbors annually, and well into the future…I’m confident that PWC’s faithful stewardship and commitment to service will endure long after my wife and I are gone.”
